Description: Located on columns at the front of the school and the wall facing the playground, these murals feature imagery from international cultures, such as Japan and Mexico. 

Inter-American is one of the oldest and most comprehensive dual language schools in the Midwest. Students learn to speak, read and write fluently in both Spanish and English.

Michele Clark High School by Erica Hawkinson

Participants: 9th-12th grade, volunteers and summer interns 
Description: Inside Michele Clark Magnet High School the pillars are decorated with 4 particularly influential African American icons that have made a lasting impact on many lives through their philanthropic work: Michele Clark Barack Obama, Chance the Rapper, and Muhammad Ali.

The 2017 mural at the Michelle Clark High School depicts a plane soaring over the city of Chicago, in honor of the bright futures that await the wonderful Clark students!

Hearst Fine Arts Academy & Academy for Global Citizenship by Erica Hawkinson

Description: OSituated between the campuses of both schools, the words "grow" and "conserve" are accompanied by scenes depicting a garden and a natural landscape.

Description: Wrapping around the front and side of the school, the mural incorporates a three-dimensional butterfly and caterpillar in its message about hard work and transformation.

The Chicago Academy by Erica Hawkinson

Location: Portage Park - 3400 N Austin, Chicago IL 60634

Description: Installed in the foyer of the school's main entrance, this mural blends the school's mascot, a dolphin, with the inspiring words such as think, hope, and achieve.

Description: Surrounding the school's garden and outdoor learning area, the murals depict the various stages of the agricultural cycle.

Description: This mural depicts elements of the Montessori philosophy including nature in the classroom, exploration of the environment, and the role of education in establishing peace.

Description: Green Star Movement designed and installed the base of this new peace pole with the help of Rogers Park locals at a community picnic in the fall of 2012.

Description: Over 4 years, GSM completed 4 murals here, the largest of which faces the school's field and playground along Ashland Ave and illustrates that "we are the authors of our lives."
